Returns & Refunds Policy
Last updated: 13 September 2026
We want you to feel comfortable shopping with Maggie & Claire. This policy explains our voluntary 30-day change-of-mind return policy and your separate rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
1. 30-day change-of-mind returns
If you simply change your mind, you may request a return within 30 days of receiving your order. To qualify under our voluntary change-of-mind policy, the item must be unworn, unused, unwashed, free from damage caused after delivery and in a condition suitable for resale, with any original tags still attached where applicable.
For hygiene-sensitive items, change-of-mind returns may be restricted where this is clearly stated on the product page or where the item cannot reasonably be resold for hygiene reasons. These restrictions do not limit rights you may have for faulty, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or otherwise non-compliant goods.
2. How to request a return
Email info@maggieandclaire.com within the applicable return period and include your order number and the item or items you wish to return. If there is a problem with the item, please describe the issue and include clear photos where helpful.
Please wait for our return instructions before sending anything. The correct return address will be provided after your request is reviewed. Because some orders are fulfilled through international fulfilment partners, the return location may differ from the address shown on the original parcel and may be outside Australia.
3. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns
For a voluntary change-of-mind return, return postage is the customer’s responsibility unless we expressly agree otherwise. We recommend using a tracked service and keeping your postage receipt and tracking information until the return is completed.
4. Faulty, damaged, incorrect or not-as-described items
Our voluntary 30-day policy does not replace or reduce your rights under the ACL. Goods sold to Australian consumers come with automatic consumer guarantees, including that they are of acceptable quality, fit for any disclosed purpose and match their description.
If an item is faulty, unsafe, materially different from its description, or the wrong item was supplied, contact us as soon as reasonably possible so we can assess the issue and provide the remedy required by law.
Where there is a major failure, you may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement. For a minor problem, we may first provide an appropriate remedy within a reasonable time. A faulty item does not need to be in its original packaging for you to exercise rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where the ACL requires us to bear reasonable return costs for a faulty or non-compliant item, we will do so or reimburse reasonable postage in accordance with the law and the return instructions we provide.
5. Sale and clearance items
Sale or clearance pricing does not remove your statutory rights. Unless a specific lawful change-of-mind exception is clearly stated before purchase, our advertised 30-day voluntary change-of-mind return policy also applies to sale and clearance items. Consumer-guarantee rights continue to apply regardless of the discount or sale price.
6. Refunds
Once a return reaches the instructed return location, it will be assessed. If the return is approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method unless another remedy is agreed or required by law. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to display the refund after it has been processed.
For a voluntary change-of-mind return, any separate original shipping charge is not refundable unless we state otherwise or the law requires it. Standard shipping is currently offered free across Australia, so there is normally no standard outbound shipping charge to deduct.
7. Exchanges
Where an exchange is available, we will explain the options when reviewing your request. Because stock can sell out quickly during our Final Retirement Clearance, we cannot guarantee that another size, colour or style will still be available. If an exchange is not available, an eligible return can be handled in accordance with this policy and applicable law.
8. Order changes and cancellations
If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. We process orders quickly and cannot guarantee that an order can be changed or cancelled after fulfilment or dispatch has begun. If an order has already been dispatched, you may need to wait until it is delivered and then follow the applicable return process.
9. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
